This section provides comprehensive guidelines for submitting manuscripts to Pijar: Jurnal Inovasi Pendidikan Indonesia. Authors are encouraged to follow these guidelines to ensure a smooth submission and review process. Below, you will find details on manuscript eligibility, formatting, structure, review process, technical requirements, citation guidelines, submission steps, copyright, and privacy policies.

Author Guidelines

Manuscript Eligibility

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal.
  • By submitting, authors agree to comply with the publication ethics policies of Pijar: Jurnal Inovasi Pendidikan Indonesia.
  • Authors are fully responsible for the authenticity of data, citations, and the use of supporting materials (e.g., images, tables, or third-party data) with proper authorization.
Manuscript Format

Formatting Requirements

To ensure consistency across submissions, manuscripts must adhere to the following technical formatting rules:

  • Use A4-sized paper (210 × 297 mm) with a single-column layout.
  • Font: Times New Roman, 11pt size, with 2 cm margins on all sides.
  • Paragraph spacing: Single-spaced.
  • Maximum length: 6,000 words, including tables, figures, and references.
Manuscript Structure

Required Sections

Manuscripts must include the following components, presented as outlined below:

  • Title: Concise, clear, and informative. Avoid abbreviations or formulas.
  • Author Identity: Include details only in the metadata, not in the main manuscript file.
  • Abstract: Written in English, concise, and factual, covering objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. Must be separate from the main manuscript. Avoid references unless essential (cite author name and year only). Define uncommon abbreviations on first use.
  • Introduction: Includes background, research objectives, and study urgency. Keep brief and avoid detailed results.
  • Methods: Describes methodology, data collection, procedures, and analysis. Cite relevant references, especially for modified methods.
  • Results and Discussion: Present findings clearly and concisely. Discuss the meaning and implications, avoiding lengthy quotations or data repetition.
  • Conclusion: Briefly summarize core findings.
  • References: Cite last name and year in-text. Order multiple citations by most recent. For two authors, cite both names; for three or more, use first author’s name followed by et al. Include a minimum of 30 references, with 80% from reputable international journals published in the last 5 years. Follow APA Style 7th Edition.
  • Acknowledgments (optional): Acknowledge funding, facilities, or significant contributions.
  • Conflict of Interest Statement (optional): Declare any potential conflicts of interest.
Review Process

Review Stages

Manuscripts are reviewed as follows:

  • Initial Screening: Manuscripts are rejected without review if they:
    • Are outside the journal’s scope.
    • Present insignificant or unbeneficial results.
    • Lack clear research objectives.
    • Do not contribute to scientific development.
    • Fail to follow submission guidelines.
  • Peer Review: Eligible manuscripts are reviewed within 2 weeks.
  • Feedback: Reviewer comments are sent to authors within 3 weeks of submission.
  • Revisions: Authors must submit revised manuscripts within 1 week of receiving feedback.
  • Final Decision: Acceptance or rejection is communicated within 1 month of submission.
Technical Guidelines

Technical Guidelines

Specific rules for presenting equations, tables, figures, and symbols:

  • Equations: Use Microsoft Equation; italicize variables.
  • Tables:
    • Must be referenced in the text.
    • Titles/captions above the table, using Times New Roman 9pt font with horizontal lines.
    • Numbered sequentially (Table 1, Table 2, etc.).
    • Used effectively without repeating text.
  • Figures:
    • Must be referenced in the text.
    • Titles/captions below the figure, using Times New Roman 9pt font.
    • Numbered sequentially (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.).
    • Submitted in high-quality .jpg or .png format.
  • Symbols: Insert via Insert Symbol, maintaining font consistency.
  • Hyphenation: Not allowed for word breaks.

In-text citations and reference lists must follow APA Style 7th Edition:

  • In-text Citations:
    • One author: (Last Name, Year)
    • Two authors: (Last Name 1 & Last Name 2, Year)
    • Three or more authors: (First Author Last Name et al., Year)
  • Reference List:
    • Every cited source must appear in the reference list, and vice versa.
    • Minimum 30 references, 80% from reputable journals published in the last 5 years.
    • Unpublished sources are discouraged.

Manuscript Submission

Manuscript Submission Stage

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the Pijar: Jurnal Inovasi Pendidikan Indonesia OJS system. Follow these steps:

  1. Start Submission: Select article category (Original Research, Review, or Conceptual Article) and complete the checklist.
  2. Upload Manuscript: Upload the manuscript file (MS Word/RTF/OpenOffice) without author identity.
  3. Manuscript Metadata: Provide complete author details, mark the corresponding author, and enter title, abstract, and keywords.
  4. Upload Supplementary Files: Include additional files (e.g., cover letter, proofreading certificate, data appendices) if applicable.
  5. Confirm Submission: Review all files and metadata, then click “Finish Submission”.

Data Storage and Security:

  • Storage: Data is stored securely on the OJS platform, hosted by Hosting Avidpedia, with restricted access.
  • Security: Encryption, access controls, and regular audits protect data from unauthorized access.
  • Retention: Data is retained only as necessary for editorial purposes or legal requirements.

Data Sharing and Access:

  • Internal Access: Limited to authorized editorial staff and administrators.
  • Reviewers: Identities are confidential under double-blind peer review.
  • Third Parties: Data is shared only with service providers (e.g., DOAJ, Crossref) under confidentiality agreements or as required by law.
  • Public Data: Author names, affiliations, and ORCID iDs may appear in published articles, with an option to opt out of additional details.

User Rights:

  • Access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to data processing, or request data portability.
  • Contact administrator@ojsap.com to exercise these rights (response within 30 days).
