Journal History

Archipel: Journal of Indonesian Interdisciplinary Studies released its first issue (Volume 1, Number 1) in 2025, with AVIDPEDIA Publisher (PT. Avid Media Indonesia) as the publisher. As of this writing, the journal has reached Volume 1, Issue 8, marking consistent monthly publication and a steady stream of contributions from various disciplines.

The journal was founded to give scholars working on Indonesia a place to publish interdisciplinary research. By bringing together work from sociology, anthropology, history, economics, environmental studies, and cultural studies, Archipel aims to support discussion across fields and provide useful insights into Indonesia's social, cultural, economic, and environmental issues.
