Waiver Policy

Article Processing Charge (APC) Waiver Policy

Archipel is committed to making scholarly publishing accessible regardless of an author's financial situation. The journal provides full or partial waivers under the following conditions:

Full Waiver (100% Discount)

  • Authors based in countries classified as low-income economies by the World Bank
  • Independent researchers without institutional affiliation or funding
  • Students (undergraduate, master's, or doctoral) submitting from institutions in low- or lower-middle-income countries, without research grants

Partial Waiver (50% Discount)

  • Authors from lower-middle-income economies as classified by the World Bank
  • Co-authored manuscripts where the corresponding author can demonstrate limited institutional support

How to Apply

  1. Submit the manuscript through the OJS system as normal — do not pay any fee at submission.
  2. At the time of submission, send a waiver request to journalarchipelid@avidpedia.com with the subject line: "Waiver Request — [Manuscript Title]".
  3. Attach a brief statement (maximum 200 words) explaining the financial circumstances and, where applicable, supporting evidence (e.g., student ID, institutional letter).

Decision Timeline

The editorial office responds to waiver requests within 7 working days. The decision on the waiver is made independently of the manuscript review process — granting or denying a waiver does not influence the editorial decision on the scholarly merit of the manuscript.

Editorial Independence

All manuscripts undergo the same double-blind peer review regardless of waiver status. Reviewers and handling editors are not informed of any waiver arrangements.
